The one-on-one: A delightful platter for two

Jun 1, 2016

After a hectic day, you look forward to quiet time at home with your companion. On the menu: Boursin cheese, a bottle of wine and the pleasure they bring. To create an atmosphere of intimacy that inspires conversation, try this platter of goodies.

HAPPINESS IN EACH BITE

When it’s late at night, you should keep it light! To give the appearance of a feast, go for several small dishes, including your favourite Boursin on a slate board, crackers or slices of bread in a basket, fig jam and pepper jelly in small bowls, and a cup of nuts. Serve it on a nice tray you can easily carry. If you feel so inclined, you can also whip up hors d’oeuvres in a jiffy, such as crackers topped with Cranberry & Pepper Boursin, strawberry slices and a mint leaf, or Melba toast garnished with Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs, apple slices and a hint of honey.

PERFECT PARTNER

A glass of wine goes fine with relaxing and getting conversation flowing. To accompany your Boursin, choose a light and fruity wine, or a delicate and dry one. A serving temperature of 10 to 12 °C is preferable for whites and rosés, while 14 to 18 °C is best for reds. Celebrating a special occasion? Break out the champagne or sparkling wine! If you prefer suds, consider a light ale, a white beer or a lager, and serve well chilled.

SECRET TO THE MOOD

There’s nothing like a plush sofa, soft music and the lights on low to create an atmosphere conducive to letting your hair down and expressing yourself. Quiet and cozy surroundings help you best benefit from this intimate interlude in your day. So, get comfortable, turn off your devices and let delight rule your night as you enjoy Boursin in each other’s company.
